"We figured they were more like... guidelines than actual rules..."
Welcome to our humble forum, Lord or Lady. We hope that you have a pleasant stay here and you are served at our highest hospitality. However, we have a few guidelines we'd like you to consider to make it enjoyable for all who call this home. I do not intend to strictly enforce these rules since we'd like everyone to remain flexible. They're meant more as nice things to keep in mind.
1. We are all open minded people. Have a problem with someone's race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion? I'm afraid you'll have to keep it to yourself or press either the "Back" or "Exit" buttons on the top corners of your browser.
2. Drama is for the stage only. Any personal disputes will be taken to private messages. If you have a problem with the group as a whole, contact me or a moderator and we will all work together to find a peaceful solution.
3. There are no swears off-limits. Cuss to your heart's content, but be aware that there are those who may not care for your language, so expect a level of fussing if you become too vulgar.
4. Proper grammar is a must at all times. Even in the OOC areas, in order for your fellow RPers to understand you we ask that you at least try. The shift key actually doesn't take much effort to use, contrary to popular belief. At the same time, we all make mistakes. Try not to be a grammar Nazi.
5. If you choose to RP an existing character, it is strongly encouraged that you remain in-character while RPing. Sometimes, it's helpful to pay attention to their mannerisms and speech patterns. Little details go a long way and make your posts easier to work with. If you act out-of-character, expect the characters around you to act in alarm. Phrases like "I've never seen you act this way before!" or "Are you feeling like yourself?" May be hints that you are acting out-of-character. It IS recommended to put your own spin on your character! Put a little of yourself into him or her. If they don't cover a personality trait in the anime/manga that you feel your character would have, feel free to add it.
6. Kuroshitsuji is very dark, but it has its humorous parts as well! Don't forget to lighten up every once in a while. On the flipside, happy plots all the time can get boring. A dash of angst to taste can do a lot for your RP recipe.
7. Forum posts can be any length as long as it gets your point across clearly and effectively. If Lewis Carol can write a chapter in an eight-worded sentence fracture, I don't see why you can't either. Just be courteous to your RP partners and make sure they are comfortable with your post length. If you find the people around you posting more or less than you do, you may want to consider scaling up or down.
Do enjoy yourself here and feel free to tell us more about yourself in the introduction section of the board.
