"It's time to open your eyes, young master." That was how it started every morning, really. Sebastian drew back the curtains to let the sun shine down on his small master to wake him properly. He strode over to the breakfast cart and poured the tea, letting it steep as he busied himself with dressing the child who had hopefully sat up by now. "Your schedule is filled with errands today, I'm afraid." The butler informed, eyes focusing on the window beyond the younger. Just a hint distracted it seemed, just enough to slow his work by a hair. He seemed to snap out of whatever it was and resumed at normal speed. "You'll need to sign the deed on that new storefront and pick up the latest candy sample." Once the smaller was dressed, he stood in order to prepare the tea. "Would you like strawberry or blueberry sauce with your flapjacks?"

There was a light. A light within all the dark that lay ahead of him, just out of reach. It was a small opening to a whole new world where everything was happy and he belonged, there in his mother and father's arms. That was where everything he wanted was. If only he could reach through this bottomless pit and touch the light again, if only...
Ciel began to stir with a soft groan as his butler began to speak and that familiar warm sunshine filled the room. It was always nice, but it made him wish to just curl back up and sleep for a longer time. A quiet yawn into his hand was given before the boy finally opened his eyes and gave them a gentle rubbing. A dream... It had been another dream.
He slowly sat up in the bed and turned once his covers were pulled off his lap, bare legs hanging off the edge for now and attention no where in particular. Listening to Sebastian, of course, but he always seemed to be in his own little world. Once the other finished with the question, he allowed his gaze to lift to meet Sebastian's. "More boring work, it sounds like." It didn't take him long to get dressed with the other's helping hand pratically doing all the work. "Strawberry today." Ciel adjusted his eyepatch after he slid and tied it on his head, lingering a few fingers over it before stepping towards his door.

The butler did so enjoy his master's company. His peaceful presence soothed the demon like the silky black coat of his feline companions. Hair and skin so soft, the perfect creamy white in that bright morning sunshine. His voice was so small and pleasant, like a music box playing a calm melody. Then, Ciel would wake up and his whole day was downhill from there. Wild, bossy, snobbish, and a pain to please because at times it seemed as if nothing pleased him. Not that Ciel's pleasure was on Sebastian's list of concerns, it would have just been nice to go a whole day without having something thrown at him. "Nonsense, young master." Sebastian countered, face holding its usual sarcastic smile. "It's a lovely day. Perhaps you could set aside some time for a game of tennis or tea outside." He suggested, handing the boy his morning tea as he absentmindedly tried to exit the room. Both master and servant seemed very distracted this morning. It was a miracle Ciel had all the proper clothes on. "I'll finish preparations on breakfast and meet you in the dining room, sir." He said with a bow as he handed the child the newspaper. Goodness, their morning routine was off by a lot. How disgraceful! He would have to make up for it in his other duties.

The small noble paused a few steps away from the doorway and turned to face Sebastian with furrowed brows. A clearly irritated expression as he took his cup of tea and gazed down into it. "Make it fencing and that'd be fine." If anything it'd be a nice change from the usual day schedule. Ciel sipped at his tea now and took in the aroma and sweet taste, always in the mood for a good tea. "Alright."
As Sebastian slipped out, he frowned more and glanced toward the open window thoughtfully. The butler's slacking had been noticed a little, but he hoped it was just an off day for the other and would pick up later. Perhaps he was hungrier than normal? Amusing... Ciel finally left his room to walk down the hallways and staircase, teacup still held in one hand while the other slid down the railing slowly. It was awful quiet in the Manor this morning, that was for sure.
He'd eventually arrive to the dining room and take steps over to the table where he'd stand near his chair and wait for Sebastian to pull it out for him as always. Spoiled was right...

Sebastian almost chuckled when the younger stopped in the doorway, but restrained himself and simply smiled patiently. "Fencing sounds excellent, sir." He agreed whether he actually agreed or not.
Downstairs, the swift butler was there at the table before his master would reach it, already setting out the strawberry drizzled pancakes in his spot before pulling the chair out for his small lord. "After breakfast, we'll head out. I've prepared a carriage for you, so we'll be ready to go as soon as you're finished." He explained as he prepared a fresh cup of tea for Ciel's breakfast. "As always, the young master is encouraged to take his time, but the sooner we leave, the sooner we can get to your garden activities." He added. If the younger had nothing to say, he would step aside and allow him to eat. Usually, those other four were causing a horrible ruckus. It was disturbingly quiet, today.

Ciel took his seat after Sebastian pulled the chair out for him, scooting up to the table and lifting his eyes to observe the food being placed infront of him. He lifted his hands to take both a fork and a knife before cutting at his pancakes, taking a small bite and eating silently as the other spoke. A brief glance was given before he nodded his head in acknowledgement before pausing to take a sip of his tea. "Good. Today should go smoothly, then. I'm ready."
He took another bite and sip of tea before standing to his feet, having left most of the food untouched but this was how he was. Rarily did he eat all of his food, unless it was pie or cakes. The young master had quite the sweet tooth for those sort of things. "Also, before we leave you should go check on the servants. The lack of explosions and chaos makes me wonder if they're dead."

Sebastian took this moment while Ciel ate to glance out the window. Funny how he could do his best thinking when Ciel's mouth was occupied with having food put in it. It was a fair spring morning. Overcast and clammy as usual. The routine was the same, even the weather was the same. Somehow, this day was different. It was peculiar in a way that actually interested the demon. Even if the outcome were good or bad, he was almost always an observer to the chaos if he weren't the one causing it. The butler was cocky enough to assume he couldn't be negatively affected by things that happened on Earth... Besides Claude Faustus. All the same, the rivalry in itself was fascinating.
When Ciel had finished eating, he set about cleaning up. "I shall check the kitchens to make sure they haven't blown themselves up, somehow." He assured with a small smile. He assumed if something bad had happened, one of them would have run sobbing to him by now. It could have very well been that they were simply quiet for once.

"Alright, i'll get the paperwork." Ciel nodded to Sebastian before slipping away to head back upstairs to his office, flipping through the papers as he stood near his desk. This really shouldn't take long at all. An in and out situation and then they could have a lovely afternoon. That was what he looked forward to right now, aside Sebastian's desert for dinner.
After that was done, he headed back downstairs and to the front door. His hat was pulled off the rack and set on his head, then his cane was grabbed and held in his right hand. Those papers were carefully stuffed into his pocket for now.

After checking on the servants, who weren't dying, just being frighteningly quiet for once, Sebastian was at the carriage for his master. The overcast sky foretold a morning shower, which he hoped would clear up by the afternoon. It would be such a shame to have their fencing match ruined.
Once Ciel was settled in the carriage, Sebastian would climb into the driver's seat as they set off. They weren't halfway down the road to London when the road in front of them had given way to a sink hole. Sebastian stopped the carriage and frowned, "Sir?" He called down to the boy within. "I'm afraid there's a blockage in the road, I'm going to have to take the long way round."

Ciel paused just outside the carriage to gaze up at the sky with a small frown, not wanting it to begin raining either. It had looked to be a lovely day outside and he'd already looked forward to that.
Once he was within the carriage and settled, he leaned back and released a sigh as they began on their way. Both hands were held overtop of his knee, legs crossed over the other slightly. His eyes remained locked out the window, watching the trees and scenery pass by quietly until the carriage stopped suddenly. What was the meaning of this? "What kind've blockage?" Ciel asked as the carriage door was pushed open and he stepped over onto the step to get a good view of it. The large sink hole was hard to miss and clearly impossible to ride around. "Alright. Make sure to call someone to tend to this once we arrive."

Finnian smiled as the suns rays shined down on him. He was already in the garden, making sure it was nice and tidy. "I wonder if the Young Master will praise me for keeping the garden clean!" Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Young Master and Sebastian get in a carriage and head towards town. Finnian sighed. 'I wish I could go into town.' He thought to himself.

Sebastian managed to turn the carriage around after Ciel was safely seated back inside. The road they took next was rough and horribly muddy. It looked just as ready to sink in as the other one. If not more. Sebastian carried on though, not seeming to mind until the back wheel fell into a hoe filled with only mud and broke off from the axle. The carriage jerked to the side and would have fallen over had the quick demon not been there to catch it. One hand holding the horses stead and the other holding the box up. He was standing in calf-deep mud all around. "Are you alright, young master?"
